Cedar Waxwing 2022 | CAD20 Canada | 1oz Fine Silver Coin

The second release in the Colourful Birds series honors the cedar waxwing, a songbird admired for its unique aesthetic, characterized by a slicked-back crest, a distinctive black mask, and silky yellow-brown feathers. This gregarious bird, native to every Canadian province and territory, is captured here in its natural element, foraging among the blossoms of a crab apple tree. Through selective colorization, the bird and the vibrant flowering branch are brought to life, offering an intimate perspective that makes the viewer feel truly present in the scene.

Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint from 1 oz (31.1035g) of 99.99% pure silver, this coin features a polished proof finish and a finely serrated edge. With a face value of $20.00 CAD, it is a legal tender issue with a strictly limited worldwide mintage of 7,500 pieces. The reverse art was designed by Tony Bianco, while the obverse features the work of Susanna Blunt. The coin arrives encapsulated in a black clamshell display case, accompanied by its serialized certificate of authenticity and beauty box.
