Northern Cardinal 2023 | CAD20 Canada | 1oz Fine Silver Coin

The third release in the Colourful Birds series honors the northern cardinal, a songbird recognized instantly by its bright red plumage and pointed crest. This striking appearance provides a welcome splash of color, especially during the quiet, dormant winter months. The coin features selective color application to highlight one of winter’s most vibrant displays: a cardinal perched among winter-hardy plants. The raised perspective pulls the viewer into the scene, creating the impression of standing just behind the cardinal as it rests amidst the evergreens.

Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint from 1 oz (31.1035g) of 99.99% pure silver, this coin features a polished proof finish and a finely serrated edge. With a face value of $20.00 CAD, it is a legal tender issue with a strictly limited worldwide mintage of 7,500 pieces. The reverse art was designed by Tony Bianco, while the obverse features the work of Susanna Blunt. The coin arrives encapsulated in a branded clamshell display case, accompanied by a beauty box and a serialized certificate of authenticity.
