Mennica Polska (Sold Out)

This commemorative coin celebrates Wayang, the dramatic Indonesian art form of shadow puppetry recognized by UNESCO as a “Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.” Rooted in centuries of history, Wayang weaves together Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata with indigenous folklore, creating a narrative tradition that is profoundly philosophical, social, and cultural.

Struck by Mennica Polska for Niue, this 1 oz .999 fine silver coin features a substantial 50mm diameter. The piece utilizes an antique proof finish to highlight the delicate, intricate details of the puppetry design, further elevated by selective gilding to provide a striking visual contrast. It is a masterful, tangible tribute to a unique art form that transcends mere entertainment to become a living history.
